Abstract: We constructed a hostparasite epidemic model with vertical transmission. Firstly, the local stability and global stability of model were analyzed by Jacobian matrix and BendixsonDulac theory. Secondly, the basic reproduction number of the model was given. Finally, the results were verified by numerical simulations.
The results show that the vertical transmission of parasites can reduce the density of the host, but will not lead to   extinction of the host population.

Key words: stability, host extinction, epidemic model, numerical simulation
