Abstract: The feeding-sample system of MPT-AES is pneumatic nebulization syste m, but its efficiency is not good. A new-built injector pump-ultrasonic nebuli zer combination feeding-sample system has been designed. Its performance was te sted and compared with that of the pneumatic nebulization system. It can be conc luded that the new-built feeding-sample system can increase the spectral line intensity about 2~3 times and decrease the detection limit about 2~10 times. M oreover, this new-built system can reduce the time taken by washing the sample c ell from 30 min or so to about 10 min.
