Abstract: Chloromethylated polysulfone with high degree of substitution was prepared from polysulfone as raw materials by chloromethylation reaction,  after reacting with trimethylamine solution,  the quaternary ammonium polysulfone  with bacteriostatic properties and water-soluble was obtained by  dialysis and freeze-drying. The  quaternary ammonium polysulfone  reacted with  polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution,  the  quaternary ammonium polysulfone/polyvinyl alcohol hydrogels could be obtained by  cross-linking γ-ray radiation without addition of  cross-linking agent. The problem of residual organic solvents and other auxiliary reagents in the polysulfone hydrogels was solved,  at the same time, the  hydrogels had bacteriostatic properties and could be used for preparing medical wound dressings.
