Effect of Heating Rate on Properties of CoFe2O4 Nanoparticles

Abstract: Nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 were prepared by thermal decomposition method. The crystal structure, microstructure and magnetic properties of samples were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The effects of different heating rates on the microstructure and magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles during the preparation process were investigated. The results show that increasing the heating rate can increase the growth momentum of crystal nuclei, which is beneficial for the grain growth of the sample, thereby increasing saturation magnetization and coercivity of the sample.
