Abstract:
A series of polycarboxylate superplasticizers was synthesized via aqueous solution radical copolymerization method, and the structures of polycarboxylate superplasticizers were identified by IR. The effects of the length of side chain, the dosage of superplasticizer in cement paste and the testing temperature of cement paste were investigated. It was shown that the paste of superplasticizer having longer side chain had better fluidity than that of those having shorter chain. The optimal dosage of superplasticizer in cement was 0.2%; the fluidity of cement paste was decreased with increasing testing temperature. The newly synthesized polycarboxylate superplasticizers were compared with commonly used products at home and overseas, showing that these superplasticizers exhibit excellent performance.
Key words: polycarboxylate, superplasticizer, cement paste, fluidity
