Transmission analysis and control for the differential coupling hybrid electric vehicle

The transmission characteristic of the traditional symmetrical level gear differential was analyzed and it was modelled mathematically as a power coupler. A control strategy was developed for the differential coupling hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) and embedded into the ADVISOR vehicle model. Taking a certain hybrid electric car as an example, the performance simulation was performed. The results showed that the differential coupling parallelseries HEV can not only save fuel, but also abandon the use of the gearbox and the clutch. It possesses the function of the electronic continuously variable transmission with flexible transmission and multi-DoF controllability.

A new fault tolerance control method was proposed for the key sensors in the steer-by-wire(SBW) car based on the adaptive fading Kalman filter technology of the optimal filter theory. The method was validated by the hardware-in-loop test. The test results showed that the suggested method provides a fault tolerance for the sensors in the SBW system, improving the safety and the reliability of the system.

A model was built for the vehicle and its hydraulic brake system using the AMESim software. A PID control algorithm based on the H∞ control theory was used in study of the vehicle stability control. The parameters of the robust PID controller were adjusted according to the vehicle driving state, taking the yaw rate and the mass center sideslip angle as the control targets, an algorithm for the vehicle stability control was developed. Using the PID control algorithm, the brake pressure in the wheel cylinder was calculated, and the vehicle stability control was realized. A combined simulation platform was set up using softwares Matlab/Simulink and AMESim which was applied to verify the proposed algorithm. The results show that the algorithm has good real-time ability and control effect, can satisfy the request of vehicle stability control.

Integration platform of automotive suspension system

A primary integration CAD module was built for the car suspension system, and the fast parametrized designs of main components of the typical suspensions including the double wishbone suspension, McPherson suspension, and 3-D five-link suspension,were done in the UG environment. A simulation model was built for an independent pront suspension with double wishbones by means of the suspension system integration CAD module and the ADAMS/CAR software platform to perform the CAE, kinematic and dynamic anlyses of the suspension system. The simulation results showed that the system integration platform is feasible and effective.

Traction ability of lunar rover's driving wheel on different soils

Experiments on the traction ability of lunar rover's driving wheel on different soils were carried out in an indoor soil trough test system. Results show that, when the wheel slip ratio is in the range of 0 to 80%, both Drag-bar Pull (DP) and Traction Efficiency (TE) increase with the number of simulant regolith press. When the simulant regolith is pressed two times, the DP and TE increase 38.9% and 69.9% respectively. When the soil is press four times, the DP and TE increase 66.7% and 171.6% respectively. The traction ability on cement road is better than on the simulant regolith; when the slip ratio is 20%, the DP on cement road is 8.2 times of that on simulant regolith. The traction ability of the driving wheel on simulant regolith is similar to but slightly better than that on quartz sand; when the slip ratio is 10%, the DPs on simulant regolith and on quartz sand are 36.8 N and 33.1 N respectively.

The local strength characteristics of the framework side wall joints of a coach were analyzed by a superelement based mixed beamshell element analysis model.The effects of the welding seam spacing in the joint on its local strength were summerized, providing a useful reference for the structure design of the coach body.

Aiming at the two problems in the traffic signal control system of SCATS, poor realtime optimization capability for the phaseoffset and having few options, the generation technique of the adaptive control strategy for the SCATS was investigated in combination with the probe vehicle data. The realtime phaseoffset optimization capability and the accuracy of the input data of the model were improved through enhancing the accuracy of the probe vehicle link travel time evaluation by improvement of the map matching algorithm. Using a fuzzy neural network and a multiple attribute decisionmaking technique, the traffic signal control parameters were generated adaptively based on the realtime detector and probe vehicle data. The suggested model was validated using a SCATS control region of Shanghai city as an example of the simulation traffic network, the data sampled by the detectors of SCATS and the probe vehicles as the input of simulation, and the Paramics V6 as the simulation platform. The results showed that it can improve the SCATS signal control efficiency.

Detection and recognition algorithm of illegal parking

To overcome the shortcoming of the manual detection of illegal parking cars, a surveillance algorithm was developed to detect the illegal parking cars based on the image processing technology. A visual sensor was set at the forbidden parking region of the road to record the video sequence. An adaptive mixed Gaussian model was used to extract the background in the complicated environment. The still objects were detected by the temporal sequence feature of the pixel level. The still vehicles were recognized by the regional feature of the object level to get the illegal car parking information. The autoalarm was realized according to the requirements from the regulation of different forbidden parking regions. The suggested algorithm was validated by the video sequence of the real traffic scenes to be effective.

 quantitative evaluation method for the road transportation network efficiency was proposed to grasp the effects of the traffic demand, the sectional traffic flow, and the travel sideeffect,etc., on the network efficiency. Based on this method, a method for evaluating the importance level of the network components was developed to distinguish the important modes and links in the network. The method has been vesified by a practical example and is characterized by the simplicity of calculation and the agreement of the calculated results with the practical data. It was found that the network efficiency the network component importance level are related to the traffic flow in the network.

Viscoelasticity prediction of asphalt mixture based on micromechanics

he viscoelasticity of the asphalt mixture was predicted by micromechanics and percolation theory. The asphalt mixture was regarded as the composite consisting of the coarse aggregate as the rigid inclusion and the mixture of the fine aggregate, filler and binder as the viscoelastic matrix. A model to predict the viscoelasticity of the asphalt mixture from that of the fine aggregatefillerbinder matrix(AFBM) was deduced in Laplace domain using the Mori-Tanaka equivalent inclusion theory and the macroscopic average theory. The parameters in the prediction model were modified based on the percolation theory, and the predicted results were compared with the ones measured by the static creep test. The results show the coarse aggregate enhances the viscoelastic performance of the fine AFBM. The viscoelastic constitutive relation of the asphalt mixture can be expressed as the product of an enhancement coefficient(EC) and the viscoelastic relation of the fine AFBM. The micromechanics predicted ECs appear smaller than the ones measured by the creep test because the prediction accuracy of the Mori-Tanaka method decreases with the increase of the coarse aggregate volumatric fraction. The ECs modified by the percolation theory agree better with the measured results.

Vibration test of two shearing stay cable dampers

The vibration tests were performed for the stay cable damper systems with the high-damping shearing rubber dumper or the viscous shearing damper on the DASYLab5.0 software platform to analyze their damping properties. The results show that by installing the high-damping shearing rubber damper the stay cable damping is improved greatly, can meet the requirement of the cable to vibration mitigation, and the viscous shearing damper performs even better.

Practical calculation of critical lateral flexure load of cable-arch systems

Based on the study of the lateral unstability of the arc arch, using the energy principle method, and considering the action of the stay cable, a practical expression was derived to calculate the critical lateral flexure load of the cable-arch system. The correctness of the expression was verified by the finite element method. The effect of the stay cable on the lateral stability of the cable-arch system was discussed. Results show that prestressing and shortening the cable, as well as increasing the cable cross area result in enhancement of the lateral stability of the cable-arch system.

Seismic performance of outer-shell connection of cold-formed square tubular column and H-shaped steel beam

Based on the research of steel housing industry, a new outer-shell joint connecting cold-formed square tubular column and H-shaped steel beam with bolts is designed. To study the seismic performance of this joint, a quasi-static experiment under low reversed cyclic load of three cross-shaped outer-shell joint specimens is carried out. With the hysteretic hoops acquired from the experiment, the effective damping ratio of the joint, with which its energy dissipation can be weighted, is calculated. From the restoring force model curves some parameters can be obtained, such as skeleton curves, which were similar to the curves under static load, initial rigidities of the joint and rigidity degeneration etc. Based on this experiment, the seismic performance of outer-shell column-beam joint is appraised in respect of strength, deformation and energy dissipation.

The seasonally running performance of the hydronic icesnow melting (HISM) on the road by using the ground source heat pump (GSHP) for many seasons was investigated. A innovate numerical simulation module of all HISM systen were established. Results show that the HISM in both heavy and frequent snowfall leads to the further drop of underground temperature and the more power consumption. The maximal instantaneous rate of the heat extracted from the ground appears in begin of every ice-snow melting, and this rate gradually decreases and fluctuates. The seasonal running for many years results in a gradual drop of the ground equilibrium temperature and COP (coefficient of performance) of heat pump system year after year. In the computational example, the COP decreases 8.5% after 5 years. Therefore, the combination of slab solar collection (SSC) and underground thermal energy storage (UTES), which actually supplements the thermal energy to the ground and increases the underground temperature, will provide a sustainable development for the HISM.

Nanometer silver iodide particles were prepared by deposition at room temperature and normal atmosphere. The influences of the contents of reagents (the concentrations of silver nitrate, potassium iodide, complexing agent, dispersant and so on) and the processing conditions on the shape of nanometer silver iodide particles were investigated. The microstructure and pattern of the nanometer particles were observed and analyzed by TEM and SEM. Results show that the nanometer particles are in spherical shape, the size of particles is homogenized and controllable, no agglomeration. The particle size changes with the processing condition; the maximum particle size is in the range of 80~90 nm, and the minimum particle size is in the range of 25~30 nm. The ice performance test in indoor cloud chamber shows that the nanometer silver iodide particles as catalyst for artificial weather modification have great application prospect.

Effect of rare earth element on boronization kinetics

Steels 45 and T12 were boronized using a plain boride agent and a series of  Nd2O3containing boride agents in a temperature range of 1053~1213 K to obtain the singleborided and rare earch(RE)borided layers. The effect of the RE on the boronization kinetics was analyzed. The results show that addition of RE accelerates formation of Fe2B phase, consequently increases the fraction of Fe2B phase in boride layer, improves its microstructure and performance. RE increases the diffusion coefficient and decreases the diffusion activation energy of the boron atom:from 184 to 122 kJ/mol for steel 45 and from 261 to 155 kJ/mol for steel T12,i.e. it is reduced by 34% and 41% respectively, enhancing effectively the boronizing rate. The contour diagram of the boride layer thickness of the steel 45 boronized with 5%Nd2O3 addition was built according to experimental data.

Morphology changes of synthetic and metastable regrown graphites

Taking synthetic graphite as the carbon source, boron as the additive, and NiMnCo alloy as the metal solvent, the morphology changes of metastable regrown graphite crystals are studied by temperature gradient method under high pressure and high temperature (HPHT)-diamond-stale pressure and temperature (5.4 GPa, 1550 K). It is found that the morphology of the regrown graphite is obvious different compared with the used synthetic graphite. The synthetic graphite shows an irregular squama-like morphology, but the regrown graphite shows a more-regular morphology. If no boron is present in the system, sheet-like regrown graphite crystals, most with regular hexagonal morphology, stand vertically in the metal solvent, with {0001} facet parallel to the direction of axial temperature gradient. When boron additive is present, regrown graphite crystals, with half-sphere-like or wafer-like morphology, grow in spiral mode, with {0001} face perpendicular to the direction of axial temperature gradient.

Visualized simulation of heterogeneous 3D material microstructure

A method to simulate visually the 3D microstructure of polycrystals was proposed. The simulated microstructure describes the morphologic and crystallographic textures of the sample with the statistical data obtained by the metallographic analysis. In the process of simulating the microstructures of the heterogeneous polycrystal materials, an incremental outofcore algorithm of 3D Voronoi polycrystalline aggregate was designed, and the real 3D microstructures of the heterogeneous polycrystals was contructed in the given RVE region. Taking into account the geometric parameters of the second phase in the practical heterogeneous materials, such as the possible crystal form, the spatial orientation and distribution, the interface phase width, a completely controllable simulation program was compiled. The microstructure required by the experimental analysis can be generated by change, control, and combination of the computerbuilt second phase geometric substance. The corresponding visualization technique was developed to illustrate the simulated microstrueture model of various heterogeneous materials.

In order to study the dynamic characteristics of the granular flow on horizontal turn during material conveyance and the action mechanism of the material granule on the conveger belt, a discrete element model was built for the horizontal turn conveyance by the nonlinear Hertz Mimdlin contact model based on the theory of discrete element method. By simulating the average speed of the tested granule at different belt angular velocities, a set of numerical values close to the calculated tangential speed of the middle of the conveyer belt were obtained, it showed that the introduced contact model and the physical parameters of the material are correct. The dynamic characteristics of 2 groups of granule element under 4 rolling friction factors were investigated. It was found that the average speed of the granule is irrelevant to the granule element and the rolling friction factor. The effects of the granule flow rate and its distribution on the lateral pressure distribution on the outside wall of the conveyer belt were simulated under the belt acceleration, and the results showed that the average lateral pressure increases along with the belt speed, and the maximal pressure sharply increases nonlinerly.

A piezoelectric bone conduction auditory device with the Surroundingfixed circular piezoelectric vibrator as the drive element to transfer the vibration signal to the sound signal and make it be sensed by the people through bone conduction is present. Optimization scheme of the piezoelectric vibrator supporting way is put forth based on the modeling of the circular piezoelectric vibrator and its simulation analysis by the ANSYS software. A prototype of this kind of the piezoelectric bone conduction auditory device is produced. An experiment is conducted to acquire the influence of the structure parameters of the bone conduction auditory device on the loudness performance, the result of which proves it to be excellent in meeting the requirements of the piezoelectric bone conduction auditory device.

The features of dragand noisereduction of the representative animal owls in fluid medium were studied. It was found that the silent flight capability to the prey of the long-eared owl mainly depends upon the distinct sequential array of its high-lift wing feathers. Applying the reverse reconstruction technique to quantify the geometric information about the leading edge shape of the long-eared owl wing, a bionic coupled model was built in which the leading edge shape was defined by wavelength and wavecrest-to-wavetrough amplitude. The finite volume method and the pressurecorrected SIMPLEC algorithm were used to simulate numerically the aerodynamic performance of the bionic airfoil model. The results show that at the condition of deep stall, the bionic airfoil model can improve significantly the aeroperformance in a certain ranges of wavelength and amplitude, increase the airfoil lift by 19.8%, delay the stall attach angle by 30.3%. The amplitude of the airfoil leading edge demonstrates more effective on improving the aeroperformance of airfoil at deep-stall than that of wavelength.

Influence of working parameters on loss rate of vertical roll corn harvester

The influences of 3 major motion parameters in the working process of a vertical roll corn harvester, the speed of snappling roll, the speed of clamping chain and the driving speed of harvester, on the loss rate of the harvester were investigated by means of the orthogonal experiment design technique. The interactions of these motion parameters were analyzed to find the optimal production conditions, that is, the optimal combination of the motion parameters. The experiments have shown that the speed of snapping roll is the most significant factor on the loss rate, the influence of interactions of the motion parameters is insignificant, and the optimal motion parameters are: snapping roll speed 1000 r/min, clamping chain speed 2.7 m/min, and harvester driving speed 1.67 m/s.

A dynamic measurement method was proposed to resolve the calibration problem of a largescale integrated automatic test equipment(IATE). A dynamic measurement model was built by improving the traditional system identification method and designing an internal traceable chain. A software platform for the automatic measurement with mixed programing was developed based on the Lab Windows /CVI and VC++, and the selfreliant dyanmic measurement was guaranteed for a military IATE.

Multi-robot task allocation based on swarm intelligence

The task allocation was studied based on the swarm inteeligence for the large-scale multi-robot system with looseand tightcoupled tasks adopting the hierarchial architecture. In the high level, the ant colony algorithm was employed to find the optimal allocation of the loosecoupled tasks, namely, based on the reverse distribution idea,taking each ant to form a task, an undertaker was chosen for every task. In the low level,the coalition formation algorithms based on the ant colony optimization(ACO),the particle swarm and ant colomy optimization(PSACO),or the quantuminspised ant colony optimization(QACO) was proposed respectively for performin a tight-coupled task.Simulations were performed and results showed that PSACO provides the best solution,but its running time is the largest;QACO is a little inferior in solution quality to PSACO, however,it needs only a half time of the 2 other methods. Therefore, QACO appears more suitable for the task allocation of the large-scale multi-robot system.

The stochastic stability problem of the networked control system(NCS) with the data packet loss and the networkinduced time delay was studied. A concept of equivalent delay was introduced to describe the relationship between the amount of lost data packet as well as the networkinduced time delay and the sampling frequincy. The closedloop NCS was modeled as a discrete time delay jump system with its equivalent delay governed by a Markov chain. The sufficent conditions for the stochastic stability of the system were given using the linear matrix inequality(LMI) and the stochastic stability theory and the dynamic state feedback controllers were derived by solving the LMIs. Numerical examples illustrated the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed method.

The robust H∞ observer-based control problem for a class of discrete-time Markovian jump systems with modedependent timedelay and normbounded uncertainties was investigated. Atlention was focused on constructing a mode-dependent observer and controller to guarantee the closed-loop system stable stochastically with a good H∞ disturbance attenuation behavior. A delay-dependent condition sufficient for the existence of H∞ controller was given by choosing a suitable type of stochastic Lyapunov function and using the linear matrix inequality. The mode-dependent observer and controller were obtained through solving the controller by the cone complementasity linearization algorithm. Numerical simulation illustrated the feasibility of the proposed technique.

Several improvements has been made to the existing error analysis as follows: considering the complete form of the fal function in the error analysis; choosing the noncontinuous piecewise Lyapunov function to get better choose rule of parameters; giving the judging criteria of error convergence for the ESO with different parameters and the convergence value of the error.

A Web service community(WSC) model to deal with the simultaneously occurred service composition problem with branching and merging structures. The WSC model can not only describe the parallel and the sequential composition relations where the multiple forerun and followup services need to be combined but also guarantee the implementation of each combined service. Moreover, spreading the service community chain based composition approach, a Web service composition approach was proposed based on the service community chain. The approach can deal with the sequential and the parallel service composition problems in a unified way. The proposed approach was verified by experiments and case studies.

For the multiple classifier integration in the pattern recognition, a decision forest rather than a decision tree was built to realize the submodel integration by mining the relevance  in the predictive attributes in the test sample and giving the distinct classification rule to each sample based on the conditional independence analysis of the training set. The structure and the number of the decision trees can be defined adaptively during the learning process. Experiments on UCI learning data sets proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

The design knowledge was described by terms of the basic element, the basic element extension set was studied, and a concept of basic element extension set of the knowledge reuse was introduced. A model calculating the degree of extension reuse was built based on the basic element. Optimization as well as searching and matching algorithms for the knowledge extension reuse were proposed. The feasibility and effectiveness of the suggested model were illustrated by an example of the concept design of a largescale hydraulic turbine.

In intrusion detection in large-scale network, the accuracy of modular neural network learning algorithm is high but its efficiency is relatively low. In this paper, Self-Organizing Mapping (SOM) is adopted as a basic learning method to take the advantage of competitive characteristics of its neurons. Then Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) is introduced to carry out fusion learning and classification of the output weights of SOM. This method can not only maintain high accuracy of the SOM but also significantly reduce the learning time. The proposed method is tested using KDDCUP99 dataset. Results show that the detection rate of this method is high and its efficiency is improved.

The conditions and actions of traditional static policies are constant, which leads to less preferable adaptability to the change of network state. In this paper, a dynamic resource allocation scheme based on extended PBNM model in mobile environment is proposed. This scheme applies the policy with dynamic format and improves the conventional PBNM model by adding the modules that can update policies during runtime according to network state. The method for dynamic resource allocation is described. Experiment and analysis show that this scheme decrease the probabilities of handoff call dropping and new call blocking, while, increases the utilization rate of network resources, which is more flexible compared with traditional resource allocation method.

An L-K means hierarchy clustering algorithm is proposed to overcome the long time searching in a huge scale face database. By clustering method the whole database is divided into a number of subdatasets. Data redundant technique and predefined threshold are applied to reassign clustering edge elements of into certain subdatasets. Then the searching is only carried out in one or few subdatasets, which greatly reduces the searching time. Experiment results show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the searching range, thus effectively increasing the searching speed while ensuring similar retrieval accuracy as to search the whole database.

Using short focal length lens to get the information of wide-field view always leads to image distortion due the existence of optics distortion. Calibration with optic method is demonstrated quite difficult and expensive. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a new algorithm to calibrate the distortion of optic system using digital image processing technique, called GPUBased Grid Calibration (GBGC) algorithm. On the bases of programmable Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), which adopts CUDA technology, this algorithm solves several lens distortion coefficients, such as radial distortion, centrifugal distortion and thinprism distortion and so on, by standard grid model. This algorithm can maximize the calibration precision and calibration speed, moreover, accomplish high quality realtime calibration. Experiment results demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of this algorithm, and the calibration precision extends to sub-pixels.

Inconsistency in light source direction is taken as the basis for the detection of image tampering. Focusing on the images generated under the irradiation of infinite light source, the HestenesPowell multiplier method is used to calculate the light source direction of different objects and backgrounds in an image and to determine whether the image has been tampered with. The calculation is in accordance with the error function between the measured intensity and calculated intensity, and the constraint function suitable for infinite light source model. Experiment results show that this algorithm can effectively calculate the light source direction of different objects and backgrounds in the image lased on infinite light source model, and the detection rate reaches up to 82.3%.

In order to fuse efficiently the multi-channel information of the target and improve the performance of the filter, a new class of k-mask based hyper-connectivity was proposed. The connectivity mask image and the reconstruct mask image were obtained from the different channel informations and restraint conditions. According to the area information by which the connectivity mask image intersects the reconstruct mask image, the connected components in the reconstruct mask image were relabeled to form the new connection space by selection and aggregation. From the definition of the hyper-connectivity class,  k-mask based hyper-connected open operator and reconstruct operator were designed and applied in labeling the character region and extracting the major path of the remote sensing image. Experiment results illustrated that the filter performance of the traditional open operator and reconstruction operator was improved significantly by flexible selection of the connectivity mask image and fusion of the image multi-gradient information, color information and multi-channel information.

Topology keeping active contour model for triangular meshes

A topology-keeping active contour model was proposed and applied to optimize the piecewise linear curve in triangular meshes. The model is directly moved on the triangular meshes and no parameterization is needed, therefore, the data structure of the meshes can be easily retained and the computation cost can be reduced in the adjusting process. The topological relationship between curves can be remained unchanged by the data structure. Based on curve energy, the proposed active contour model can be applied for curves optimization in terms of curve smoothing and curve adjustment. Experiment results show that the proposed model can capture the convex/concave feature of the curves and improve the smoothness of the curves.

To obtain better disparity result of the less textured area of image, an improved dense stereo matching algorithm is proposed. First, the image is divided into several less textured or well textured areas based on region-growing strategy. Then, the dense disparity map of the less textured area is identified through the matching based on the whole region. Compared to pixel, a region contains more information and repeats seldom occur, thus reducing the probability of matching error. The proposed algorithm was tested with the international standard image data and compared with several existing algorithms. Experiment results show that the performance of the improved algorithm is better in handling less textured area and can be use in practice.

A novel calculation method for the real-time guarantee level was suggested to evaluate the deadline guarantee level for the realtime task in the computing grid using a specific co-allocation scheme, and a multi-strategy resource co-allocation model was proposed and implemented based on this method. The model uses the existing coallocation strategy to generate multiple co-allocation schemes and selects the scheme that provides the optimal deadline guarantee level to allocate the resource for the task. The performance of the proposed model was simulated in a multicluster computing grid test bed using the task load of the practical grid system. The results show that the proposed multi-strategy co-allocation model can integrate the strong points of the various existing co-allocation strategies, provide an enhanced deadline guarantee for the resource coallocation of the real-time tasks in the computing grid.

For quick publication of Remote Sensing (RS) images in Internet, this paper proposed an efficient algorithm to build image pyramid model. In order to improve the efficiency, both the image cutting and resampling are implemented in the RAM, avoiding the unnecessary I/O operations. Two distributed implementation approaches under Internet environment are presented, which are based on Browser/Server (B/S) and Client/Server (C/S) architectures respectively. They are programmed by combing C++ with Java, ensuring the processing speed and the distributed architecture of the algorithm. Test results with a global RS image show that the programs can work efficiently, robustly and flexibly under Internet environment. Also, the programs are endowed with userfriendly graphical interfaces and easy to use.

Range image surface fitting is one of basic steps of range image analysis. The disadvantages of local fitting methods are analyzed; then this paper propose a new global surface fitting scheme by using moving least squares methods. Making use of the continuity of the shape function of moving least squares methods, this scheme can obtain fine fitting results and achieve multi-level continuous range image surface fitting, which are convenient for calculating surface characteristics of range image. Experiment results on real range images demonstrate the feasibility of the moving least squares methods.

Model-based diagnosis describes a system using the structure and behavior model of the system. However, there exists uncertainty in model-based diagnosis because of the coupling relations among the faulty components. This paper incorporates Bayesian network into the framework of model-based diagnosis method and develops a Bayesian network model in terms of observations to solve uncertainty. The posterior probabilities of diagnoses are computed using the Bayesian network model to determine the most probable faulty component. An attitude control system of twoaxis satellite was taken as an example to illustrate and validate the proposed method.

The description of the semantic property preservation of the software architecture model was analyzed from the structure semantics, the axiomatic semantics and the behavioral semantics based on the formalized description of the software architecture model. The corresponding judging criteria were set up. An approach to prove whether a transformation satisfies the preservation constraints was given which can verify the semantic preservation of the model transformation theoretically in stead of by model checking. The results provide a theoretical guidance for the definition of the model transformation rules and validation of mapping relations of the model.

Combining the time difference of arrival(TDOA) method and the centroid localization algorithm, a mixed network centroid localization algorithm was proposed based on the weighted proposal.Using the TDOA and several classical localization algorithms to solve the hyperbolic equation group, the location of the node to be localized was obtained. The localized node was used as the coordinates of the centroid algorithm, and the distance between the anchor node and the unknown node was used as the constraint to adjust the node location to reduce the localization error. Simulation results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

A symmetrical interleaver algorithm was developed based on the T-Chaotic mapping and the odd-even protection(TCOP). The T-chaotic mapping was introduced to improve the capability of controllable randomicity of the interleaver and reduce the correlation of the check sequence in the design of odd-even protection. The symmetrical design with the odd-even protection improves the equal protection of the check sequence and simplifies the system structure. Three kinds of TCOP algorithm were proposed and they were compared with the S-chaotic algorithm as well as the interleaver algorithm using the S-chaotic mapping and the odd-even protection(SCOP) in terms of the time delay and the bit error rate. When the length of the frame increases from 512 to 4096, the generating time lag of the S-chaotic is 8 to 676 times longer than that of the TCOP.2, and the SCOP is 8 to 118 times longer than the TCOP.2. When the length of the frame is fixed at 1024, the performance of the TCOP.2 is close to the SCOP, while the coding gain of the TCOP.2 is about 0.3 dB higher than that of the S-chaotic.

To construct the high performance short-length irregular repeataccumulate(IRA) codes, the major factors affecting the performance of the finitelength IRA codes were analyzed. Based on the analysis, improvement was made on the progressiveedgegrowth(PEG) algorithm. In the improved algorithm, more protection is given to the degree-2 variable nodes and the appear probability of the lowweight code words is reduced. Simulation results showed that the short-length IRA codes constructed by the proposed algorithm exhibit low errorfloors without penalty on the bit error rate in the low signaltonoise ratio region.

Improved QoS scheme based on SWAN model in wireless Ad hoc network

To enhance the QoS performance of the stateless wireless Ad hoc network(SWAN) model, its admission control scheme and routing protocol were improved. The saturated throughput of the 802.11 DCF protocal and the intra-flow interference model were analyzed and the estimation methods for the node available bandwidth and the real-time bandwidth consumption were proposed to improve the accuracy of the admission control scheme. Meanwhile, the traffic load imformation of the network was applied in the route discovery to select the more resourceful route for data transmission. The simulation results showed that the proposed schemes significantly improves the delay performance of the real-time traffic and the total throughput of the best effort traffic.

A weighted mobile triangle time of arrival algorithm (WMTTOA) for positioning was proposed for ultrawide band (UWB) communication system. The proposed algorithm which has an analytical solution and one reference node (RN) to determine the location of the mobile station (MS) can overcome the non-convergence caused by the inaccurate initial location estimation of the MS. Simulation results showed that the WMTTOA algorithm can mitigate the effect of the nonlineofsight propagation on the positioning precision and achieve more accurate precision than the traditional direct calculation method (DIRECT). The complexity of the WMTTOA algorithm is lower than that of DIRECT.

A novel timedomain overlapped single-carrier(SC) broadband scheme OVSC was proposed to improve the spectrum efficiency of the SC transmission system. The spectrum efficiency, the performance, and the peaktoaverage power ratio of the scheme were studied. A suboptimum detection algorithm(J-FDE) based on the frequency domain equalization(FDE) was developed and the soft output iterative FDE algorithm JI-FDE was studied. The pilot design and the frame structure were investigated for the proposed OVSC-FDE scheme. The simulation demonstrated that the performance of the OVSC-FDE is better than that of the OFDM and SC-FDE using the multi-level modulation at the same spectrum efficiency.

A novel uplink data transmission scheme based on cycleorthogonal M-ary spectrum spreading was proposed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to this scheme, potential periodicity in the transmiting signal is eliminated and the data is hard to detect or intercept with conventional technologies, thus the anti-jamming and anti-intercepting capabilities of the system can be achieved. In the dynamic circumstance, the great move speed and acceleration of the carrier results in drastic variation in carrier wave Doppler frequency shifts, which makes the tracking loop of general receivers out of balance. A FPLL tracking scheme based on lookup tables(LUT) was proposed, which adopts a list of empirical values in FLL and the bandwidth of the loop filter in FLL can be adjusted adaptively. As a result, a more precise tracking can be attained at any time.

An impulse radio-ultrawideband (IR-UWB) communication system was proposed and realized based on the energy detection, and the related synchronization process was investigated on the pulse and frame levels. An optimal transmission mode under the typical indoor environment was described to get the best trade-off between the reliability and the effectiveness of the proposed mode. Meanwhile, the reference frame structure and transmission rate in this optimal mode under certain environments were given. System performance was tested be practical experiments, and the results showed the practicality of the optimal transmission mode to the IR-UWB system design.

A method of calibrating the dual orthogonal accelerometers(DOA) on a twoaxis turning table was proposed to calibrate the highprecision accelerometer. A squareofg observation model was built for the DOA and the correlation of the DOA model coefficients was analyzed. Based on the D-optimal experiment design, according to the special form of the model equation in the multi-position test of the accelerometers, an analytical solution of the experiment design was derived using the information matrix of equation. The simulation and experiment demonstrated that the standard deviation of the DOA method is less than, and its identification accuracy is better than that of the single accelerometer. So, the DOA method can enhance the calibration accuracy of the high-precision accelerometer.

To deal with the rendezvous problem between the small satellite and the co-orbital target, a guidance strategy was developed to make the satellite meet the target in a desired time. A quadratic equation about the relative motion between the two satellites and the transfer time was derived using the homogeneous central gravity field model. An analytic solution to the equation can provide the optimal thrust time and thrust direction of the fuel-fixed, open-time intercept. An improved guidance algorithm was proposed by replacing the analytic method during the free-flight phase with the Lambert guidance algorithm. Simulations were conducted and their results were tested by STK software to be correct and effective.

The full three dimension flow field solver based on ReynoldsAveraged NavierStokes (RANS) equations and the numerical optimization program based on multi-objective genetic algorithm are applied to the optimal design of NASA Rotor37. A flow field solver code is developed based on three dimensional NS equations and validated by comparing computation results with experiment data. An optimization program with the ability of global optimization is developed, which combines multi-objective genetic algorithms with response surface models. This optimization method is applied to the aerodynamic redesign of NASA Rotor37 with camber line and thickness distribution, in which the objectives are to maximize the total pressure ratio and the adiabatic efficiency. Optimization results show that the total pressure ratio is improved by 0.6% and adiabatic efficiency is improved by 0.7%, which validates the multi-objective optimal design method.
