Emission behavior from small ethanol engine with electronic fuel injection

Abstract: Effects of excess air ratio φsub>a and ignition advanced angle θ on CO,HC and NOx emissions from a 125 mL gasoline and ethanol engine with electronic fuel injection were studied experimentally.It is proved that ethanol engine emits less NOx than equivalent gasoline engine.Relatively optimal ranges of φsub>a and θ to lower emissions from ethanol engine were proposed which are useful to the parameter matching of ethanol engine.
