An uplink packet scheduling algorithm based on WiMAX

Abstract:

According to the Quality of Service (QoS) definition of traffic flows by WiMAX and the existing scheduling framework, an improved scheduling algorithm (ICBQ) is proposed, which is suitable for WiMAX uplink. The algorithm resolves the problem that lowpriority flow can not receive service for a pretty long time when the load of the system is heavy. Simulation results show that the improved algorithm gives much higher scheduling opportunities to nonrealtime Polling Service (nrtPS), Best Effort (BE) traffic flows, the system bandwidth is utilized effectively, fairness between users is improved, at the same time, QoS of realtime Polling Service (rtPS) traffic flow is not lowered.
