Vehicle adaptive cruise control system based on optimal preview acceleration decision making

Abstract: Applying the hypothesis of steady preview and dynamic correction to research of the vehicle adaptive cruise control (ACC) system, a vehicle ACC system architecture and the corresponding control algorithm was developed based on driver optimal preview acceleration model from the viewpoint of driver handling behavior modeling. The theoretic analysis and the simulation results indicate that the application of the theory of driver handling behavior modeling to the research of vehicle ACC system based on the analysis of driver handling behavior characteristic is a feasible approach for vehicle ACC system development.
