Network video monitoring system based on dynamic strategy

Abstract: For the application of video monitor in long distance, a network video monitoring system is proposed based on dynamic strategy. The system consists of two parts: one part is the network video monitoring system server based on X264 encoder and Live555 streaming media server for Linux platform; and the other part is the network video monitoring system client based on VLC player for Windows platform. To maximize the encoding efficiency and the network utilization, two strategies are proposed: the dynamic selection algorithm strategy of intra prediction mode and the rate adaptive strategy based on network conditions. Experimental results indicate that this solution is feasible and has good monitoring effect.
