Abstract: Fifteen teeth remains excavated from Zhagunluke cemeteries were analyzed for the hypervariable control region (HVRI) and haplogroup diagnostic SNPs of the mitochondrial DNA genome. NJ tree and multidimensional scaling analysis were constructed based on pairwise Fst values. The results show the affinity of the ancient population to Central Asian populations in matrilineal lineage. It is significantly that the eastern Eurasian factor of Zhagunluke population was increased obviously compared with that of the populations in Xinjiang province. It may be reflected by the special locality and time of the cemeteries.
