Abstract:

As in soil and Hg in sediment were determined by flow injection hydride atomic absorption spectrometry. Under the optimum conditions of sample digestion and instrumental performance, the determining method is sensitive and accurate. For the determination of arsenic in soil, the limit of detection was found to be 2 ng/L and the recovery was in a range of 93.6%~106.1%, RS
Ds were in a range of 1.36%~5.08%. For determination of mercury in the sediment, the limit of detection was found to be 3 ng/L and the recovery was in a range of 93.2%~109.6%, RSDs were in a range of 0.97%~553%. The flow injection hydride atomic absorption spectrometry has a high sensitivity and stability in determining arsenic in soil and mercury in sediment and its precision and accuracy are up to the standard of analysis.
