Synthesis of Layered K0.81Li0.27Ti1.73O4

Abstract:

The synthesis of layered K0.81Li0.27Ti1.73O4 from K2CO3,Li2CO3 and TiO2 was studied. The results show that the layered K0.81Li0.27Ti1.73O4 could be synthesized from starting materials at a mixing ratio of n(K2CO3) ∶n(Li2CO3) ∶n(TiO2)=(0.405~0.42) ∶(0.135~0.165) ∶1.73 at a reation temperature between 1 000 ℃ and 1 200 ℃, and longer reaction time and higher reaction temperature favour the formation of the product. At 1 200 ℃, Al2O3 which is the component of corundum crucible would react with the reagents to formK0.81Li0.27Ti1.73O4 impurity. So when the corundum crucible is used as the reaction container, the optimization reaction conditions are the reaction temperature is 1 100 ℃, the ratio of starting
materials is n(K2CO3) ∶n(Li2CO3) ∶n(TiO2)=0.405 ∶0.135 ∶1.73, and the reaction time is 24 h.
