Nonlinear Vibration of an Eccentric Rotor Subjected to Unbalanced Magnetic Pull

Abstract:

The effects of unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP), mass eccentricity, gyroscopic forces and polepair number on the vibrations of an eccentric rotor in threephase generator under noload were investigated by means of the numerical method. It is concluded that UMP can cause large amplitude circular whirling.
