Abstract:
A Yb3+-doped ring fiber laser based on the principle of nonlinear polarization rotation was constructed. Two kinds of dual-wavelength output (DWO) including the equal\|amplitude and unequal-amplitude DWOs were obtained and their output powers were measured. The results show that the laser conversion efficiencies of different wavelengths were rather different due to gain difference. The DWO tunability was also analyzed, and the influence of pump power on DWO at 1 029 nm and 1 048 nm was investigated. The laser outputs from dual-to seven-wavelengths were observed, and the corresponding pump power ranges and the maximum output power were measured.
