Abstract:

The pulse laser was used to produce laser beam that directly irradiates on the interface between the epoxy coat and aluminum substrate to excite the acoustic waves, an optical interferometer was applied to detecting displacement on the rear epicenter of the aluminum substrate. The results of this experiment show that the amplitude ratio of direct wave and reflected wave is directly related with the interfacial bonding characteristics. The described method could be used to evaluate bonding quality for similar structure.
