Dual-wavelength Tunable Output Characteristics of Yb3+-Doped Ring Fiber Laser

Abstract:

A Yb3+-doped ring fiber laser based on the principle of nonlinear polarization rotation was constructed. Two kinds of dual-wavelength output (DWO) including the equal\|amplitude and unequal-amplitude DWOs were obtained and their output powers were measured. The results show that   the laser conversion efficiencies of different wavelengths were rather different due to gain difference. The DWO tunability was also analyzed, and  the influence of pump power on DWO at 1 029 nm and 1 048 nm was investigated. The laser outputs from dual-to seven-wavelengths were observed, and the corresponding pump power ranges and the maximum output power were measured.
