Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of  macrophage inflammatory protein(MIP)-1α in inflammed pulp tissus,and elucidate its potential role in the development of pulpitis. Methods 4 cases of normal pulp tissues and 4 cases of inflammed pulp tissues were selected. The histomorphologic changes  of normal pulp tissues and 4 inflammed pulp tissues were examined by HE staining. The mRNA expressions of MIP-1α in normal pulp tissues and 4 inflammed pulp tissues were detected by using the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Results
The fibroblasts,collagens fibers,capillaries and histiocytes were observed in the normal pulp tissues by staining. The vasodilatation and hyperemia,lymphocytes,plasma cells,macrophage and neutrophils infiltration,vascular proliferation and collagenous fibers were observed in the inflammed pulp tissues. The expression rate of MIP-1α mRNA in normal pulp tissues was 0,and the expression rate of MIP-1α mRNA in inflammed pulp tissues was 100%.The relative expression amounts of each inflammed example were 1.07,1.11,1.21,and 0.96. There was significant difference of MIP-1α mRNA expression between two groups with the analysis of exact probabilities（P<0.01）. Conclusion There is not expression of MIP-1α in normal pulp tissues，while there is expression of MIP-1α  in inflammed pulp tissues.MIP-1α may play an important role in the development of pulpitis.
