Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the association of 5-hydroxytryptamine 1A(5-HT1A) receptor gene polymorphism and schizophrenia with Meta-analysis and  provide basis for evidence-based medicine for the genetic background of schizophrenia. Methods PubMed,Cochorane,CNKI and Wanfang Database were used to search all the relevant case-control trials of full text about the relationship between 5-HT1A receptor gene polymorphism and schizophrenia. The values of OR and 95%CI were used as effect indicators. It was based on reviewing full text to search, evaluate and adopt data. Statistical analysis was performed with RevMan5.0 including the heterogeneity inspection, effect consoliating and evaluatation on publication bias. Results A total of 5 articles were   included after the analysis. Two of the studies were about the association between  schizophrenia and  5-HT1A receptor gene rs6294,and the other 3 about 5-HT1A receptor gene rs6295. The Meta-anaylsis results of 5-HT1A receptor gene rs6294 genotype showed OR=0.35,95%CI=0.12-1.08,P=0.07;and the allele results were OR=0.34,95%CI=0.11-1.03,P=0.06;the  results of 5-HT1A receptor gene rs6295 genotype  were OR=1.78,95%CI=0.69-4.59,P=0.23;and the allele results were OR=1.80,95%CI=1.03-3.16,P=0.04. Conclusion  5-HT1A receptor gene polymorphism is associated with schizophrenia.
