Abstract:

Objective  To detect  the expression of endothelial derived gene-1 (EG-1) gene  in thyroid papillary carcinoma tissue by real-time quantitative PCR and to investigate  the relationship between EG-1 and the ocurrence and  development of thyroid papillary carcinoma. Methods Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect
the expressions of EG-1 gene in 38 thyroid papillary carcinoma patients ( case group) and 15 thyroid adenoma patients (control group),and the expression level of EG-1 was detected by immunohistochemisty.
Results The expressions of EG-1 mRNA and protein in thyroid papillary carcinoma tissue  were significantly higher than those in adenoma  tissue(P<0.05).The expression of EG-1 mRNA had significant relationship with the pathological degree in thyroid cancer(P<0.05), but there was no correlation with the age and the gender of the patients(P>0.05).Conclusion The expression of EG-1 gene in thyroid papillary carcinoma tissue is obviously higher,EG-1 gene  may be important in the occurrence and  development of thyroid cancer.
