Abstract:Objective To investigate the association between MAOA gene polymorphism and internalizing disorders and provide theoretical basis for its susceptible gene study.Methods The method of PCR-based ligase detection reaction (PCR-LDR) was applied to detect the genotypes of the tag SNP on MAOA gene in 194 cases affected by internalizing disorders and 177 controls of healthy undergraduates.Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium for genotypic distribution was estimated by the goodness of fit χ2 test.The distribution of allelic and genotypic frequencies of MAOA gene among case groups,control group and affected different number of internalizing disorders groups was statistically computed.Results The genotypic frequency of MAOA gene did not deviate from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in both case and control groups (χ2 =3.763,P>0.05；χ2 = 3.213,P>0.05).The tag SNP was not associated with the disorders (P>0.05).There were no correlations between allelic or genotypic frequencies among the different degrees of co-morbidities and control group (P>0.05). Conclusion MAOA gene may not be associated with internalizing disorders,which means MAOA gene may not be the major gene caused the disease.
