Abstract:

Studying the rules of metallogenic elements fractal distribution is an important method to illustrate the mineralization enrichment. The method of rescaled range analysis (R/S) was applied to study the variation trend with the sampling scale, and to explore into the relationship between Hurst index and mineralized intensity, in the drifts on -210 m level of Dayin’gezhuang gold deposit in the Jiaodong gold province, China. The results show that there exists obvious differences among the Hurst indices of Au grade sequence, greater than 0.5, and the Hurst indeices are greater than 0.65 in parts with continuous mineralization or discontinuous ones concentrated. These indicate that the sequence of the stochastic process is of scale invariant and long-range correlations, and the continued strength of the sequence is consistent with the mineralization, which can provide a new effective method for quantitative identification of regional metallogenic strength.
