Information integration technique for man-machine coordinated material handling system based on WLAN

Abstract: The application of the wireless local area network(WLAN) was studied to satisfy the demand of the man-machine coordinated material handling system on the information integration. The WLAN combining a wireless network for the man-machine coordinated material handling system and an integrated wired network for the manufacturing system were set up in the advanced manufacturing environment. In this system, the stable connection and real-time communication among the various automatic equipments and the material handling station can be realized, so the investment on the existing system modification may be cut down and the substantive rearrangement of the hardware realized. Taking a wireless communication system between a material handling station and a man-driving material transport dolly as an example, the realization method of the information integration was discussed.
