Topology optimization design of Tjoints in concept autobody

Abstract:

The correctness and feasibility of the concept autobody model were validated by static stiffness comparison. Considering the important effect of the Tjoints on the global stiffness of the autobody, a Tjoints model was integrated into the concept autobody model, and a mixed model TJB including the Tjoints and beam elements was built. Weighing the actual contributions of different Tjoints to the open stiffness under torsional condition, the key Tjoints of the body roof were selected as the region of modification. The topology optimization was performed using the variable density method, the Tjoints were reinforced by strengthening plates according to the optimization result and the structure feature of the autobody,achieving the favorable modification effect.The proposed method accelerates the design process, provides the reasonable structure with excellent performance.
