Damage diagnosis of concrete structure based on modal strain energy theory

Abstract:

In order to study the damage diagnosis of concrete structures under ambient excitation, an effective diagnostic method of structural damage location and assessment degree of damage was discussed based on modal strain energy theory. Through improved the existing modal strain energy indicators, a damage diagnosis method based on crossmodal strain energy was proposed. Using the method the rapid damage diagnosis of structure was made with low order modals information. Through the establishment of concrete simple beam model of threedimensional solid, the finite element numerical simulation was performed to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of proposed method. The results of the present study were expected to be useful for the health monitoring technology of concrete structure and provides a theoretical basis.
