Numerical simulation analysis of heat transfer performance of vehicle radiator module in a virtual wind tunnel

Abstract: In order to enhance the heat transfer performance and inprove the temperature field in the engine cabin to keep the vehicle performance stable, a 3-D physical model was built inside and outside the engine cabin according to the system drawing. A heat exchanger model was used instead of the radiator module in the engine cabin, the CFD numerical analysis was used to simulate the heat transfer performance of the engine cabin in a virtual wind tunnel at standard working conditions. The temperature fields and flow fields in the radiator, inside and outside the engine cabin were obtained. The comparison between the experiment data and the simulation results shows that the discrepancy is acceptable, proving the effectiveness of the model and the accuracy of CFD numerical analysis.
