Precision control on blades forming of stamping welded hydrodynamic torque converter

Abstract:

To avoid the traditional trial-and-error methods generated during the manufacturing process of blades, this paper proposes to precisely control the forming of pump and turbine blades of stamping welded hydrodynamic torque converter YJC265, which contains stiffener and flanging. This method can predict the springback distribution accurately, compensate die surface of blades based on the calculation results and obtain ideal stampings. Furthermore, a YJC265 hydrodynamic torque converter prototype has been made through the forming and springback calculation and die compensation method, and the prototype performance test results exceed the design requirements, production cycle and cost are also far less than the traditional method. This new method can guarantee the springback accuracy of blades, guide die design, ensure a success rate of die development and is of great significance to the actual production of the torque converter blades.
