Global power matching on truck-mounted concrete pump based on genetic algorithm

Abstract: In order to overcome the shortages of lower efficiency and higher fuel consumption of truck-mounted concrete pump, a global power matching method is proposed based on both fuel consumption rate of the engine and the efficiency of hydraulic pump. The load distributions are summarized by mathematical statistics tool. The fuel consumption rate of the engine is obtained on an engine test platform. Experiments are conducted on the hydraulic pump to find the high efficiency region with different pressure, rotation velocity and displacement. The combination optimization of engine fuel consumption rate and pump efficiency are carried out using genetic algorithm. The engine speed and the pump displacement are jointly adjusted to make output control indexes adapting to the load change in real time, ensuring all the components work in the high efficiency region. Comparative experiments are conducted with new and old methods. Results show that the new method outperforms the old one that the fuel consumption is reduced by 16%.
