Finite element analysis of lateral vibration of high-speed rotating disk cutter slice blade

Abstract: The lateral vibration of the high-speed rotating disk cutter slice blade was studied by the finite element analysis and the experimental measurement. The fanshaped grid with the element squarization was used to mesh the slice blade, and a dynamic equation was established for the slice blade according to Lagrange equation. The static and dyanmic behaviors of the blade system were determined by the established dynamic equation. A special experiment set-up was developed and used to measure the behaviors of the blade system. The measured data were compared with the theoretical analysis, and the results show that the dynamic equation established for the highspeed rotating disk cutter slice blade system is correct.
