Abstract:

The mechanochemical reaction between C3N3Cl3 and Li3N with acetone as the additive medium was carried out via high\|energy ball milling. Carbon nitride was obtained by baking the acquisition in a tube furnace in vacuo. XRD reveals the transformation of crystalline structure and it also shows that the product was transformed to graphitic carbon nitride after being milled for 80 hours at 200 r/min and baked at 573 K for 2 h. FTIR spectrum implies the existence of C—N and C=N bonds. XPS analysis also reveals the existence of sp2 CN bonds in the final product. TEM investigation shows that the product mainly consisted of particles with their diameters ranging from 200 to 300 nm.
