Methods 20 patients with breast cancer, benign tumor, polyacrylamide hydrogel injection or gynaecomastia underwent mastoscopy-assisted surgery were collected as mastoscopy group and 100 patients  underwent conventional surgery in the same period  were collected as control group. The aesthetic result, the operation time, the treatment time and  the complications were assessed in two groups. Results The consmetic outcome achieved in 95% patients in mastoscopy  group while in 34% patients in control group(P<0.01). There were no differences  in the complications of  hematoma, seroma, infection and  recurrence between  two groups(P>0.05). The postoperative pain and the incidence of injury of mastoscopy were shorter than that of conventional surgery.Mastoscope-assisted breast augmentation could reduce the pain, bleeding and tissue injury (P<0.05).The surgical incision in mastoscopy group was smaller and the treatment time was shorter than  those in control group(P<0.05).
