Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To observe  the incidence of pain after treatment of acute periapical periodontitis using negative pressure following opening drainage. Methods 142 patients with acute periapical periodontitis were randomly divided into experimental group(72 teeth) and control group(70 teeth). The patients in experimental group were treated with negative pressure drainage;the patients in control group were treated with conventional opening drainage. The incidence and degree of  pain after root canal preparation and the changes of IL-1β,PGE2 and CRP  levels  intwo groups were recorded. Results There was significant  difference of VAS difference value between two groups(P<0.05).The changes of IL-1β,  PGE2  and CRP levels  in ex
perimental group were larger than those in control group(P<0.05).The effective rate of treatment in experimental group was higher than that in control group  (P<0.05). Conclusion The negative  pressure drainage can effectively prevent and reduce the pain during root canal therapy of acute periapical periodontitis.
