Abstract: Abstract:Objective To study the therapeutic effects of aprotinin on chronic hepatic injury in rats. Methods Sixty Wistar rats were divided into 6 groups(n=10). Group Ⅰ: normal control group, Group Ⅱ-Ⅵ: the chronic hepatic fibrosis models of rats were induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) for 12 weeks, Group Ⅱ: model control group, Group Ⅲ: low dose of aprotinin (2×104 kIU•kg-1)group, Group Ⅳ:middle dose of aprotinin (4×104 KIU•kg-1)group, Group Ⅴ: high dose of aprotinin (8×104 KIU•kg-1)group, Group Ⅵ: pHGF(100 mg•kg-1) control group. After 8 weeks in GroupⅢ-Ⅵ,per rat was injected with aprotinin and pHGF every day respectively for 4 weeks. The changes of activiies of serum ALT,AST,TP,ALB,A/G,SA and Hyp content of liver tissue were measured. The pathologic changes of liver tissue were observed. Results Compared with normol control group, The activities of serum ALT,AST and the Hyp level of liver tissue were increased;the activities of serum SA,ALB and A/G were decreased in model group. Compared with model group, aprotinin could decrease the activities of serum ALT, AST and Hyp level of liver tissue, increase the activities of serum SA,ALB and A/G. Hepatic histological findings indicated that aprotinin could alleviate chronic hepatic injury significantly. Conclusion Aprotinin has therapeutic functions on chronic hepatic injury in rats.

Key words: carbon tetrachloride, liver diseases, liver regeneration in mode groups
