Objective To investigate whether cell uncoupling could be induced by mitomycin C (MMC). Methods Cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry (FCM) following staining of cells with propidium iodide (PI) and the changes of polyploid cells were observed.Results The 8N cells were increased significantly compared with control,24 hours after exposure of SKOV-3 cells to MMC with the doses of 1.0 and 2.0 mg•L^-1 (P<0.01, P<0.05, respectively). And 24 hours after exposure of L929 cells and EL-4 cells to MMC with the doses of 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 mg•L^-1, the 8N cells were also increased significantly compared with control (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The cell cycle uncoupling could be induced by MMC exposure.

Objective To explore the effects of melatonin (MLT) on the apoptosis of mouse lymphocytes in vitro induced by ionizing radiation and its mechanism. Methods The percentages of apoptotic bodies and the DNA lytic rates in mouse thymocytes and splenocytes were detected with flow cytometry and fluorospectrophotometry, respectively. Results The apoptosis of mouse thymocytes and splenocytes increased in a dose-dependent manner in 0.5~6.0 Gy X-irradiation. When MLT of 2 mmol•L^-1 was added into thymocytes or splenocytes in vitro before irradiation with 0.5~6.0 Gy X-rays, the percentages of apoptotic bodies and the DNA lytic rates all decreased significantly compared with those in the irradiation group. The percentages of apoptotic bodies in these two kinds of cells were 86.25% and 89.22% of those in the irradiation group, respectively, and the DNA lytic rates were 87.23% and 89.16%, respectively. Conclusion MLT can decrease the apoptosis of mouse lymphocytes and has the protective effects on the damage of lymphocytes.

Objective To study the effect of different doses of X-irradiation on transcription factor NF-κB in peritoneal macrophages of mice. Methods Electrophoresis mobility shift assay (EMSA) was used to separate the binding bands of NF-κB with DNA probe, the results were analyzed by Phosphor Imager Scanning System.Results The DNA binding activity of NF-κB heterodimer p65/50 in peritoneal macrophages of irradiated mice increased compared with that of sham-irradiation mice, peaked after irradiation with 0.100 Gy of X-rays, followed by gradually returned to the sham-irradiation level, then increased again after irradiation with 6.000 Gy of X-rays; but the DNA binding activity of NF-κB homodimer p50/50 had no changes after irradiation. Conclusion Irradiation with both low dose and high dose of X-rays can induce the increase of the DNA binding activity of NF-κB predominantly heterodimer p65/50 in peritoneal macrophages in irradiated mice.

Objective To observe the dose-rate effects of adaptive response of thymocyte DNA lysis induced by low dose radiation. Methods Kunming male mice were irradiated with the inductive dose (D1: 75 mGy; dose rate: 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100， and 200 mGy•min^-1) and the challenging dose (D2: 1.5 Gy; dose rate:287 mGy•min^-1), the interval between D1 and D2 was 6 hours. The DNA lytic fragmentation was measured with fluorospectrophotometry. Results The DNA lytic rate in the D2 group was significantly higher than that in sham-irradiation group; when the dose rates were 6.25, 12.5 and 25 mGy•min^-1,the DNA lytic rates in D1+D2 groups were significantly lower than those in the D2 group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion When the mice are irradiated with 75 mGy (D1: 6.25~25 mGy•min^-1) 6 hours before 1.5 Gy (D2: 287 mGy•min^-1) exposure, the adaptive response of thymocyte apoptosis can be induced under the condition of whole-body irradiation.

Objective To study the effects of the polysaccharide (S₃) separated out in 60% alcohol aqueous from Ornithogalum caudatum ait (OCA) on the expressions of T cells and IL-2 mRNA. Methods After separation of the lymphocytes from lymphoid nodes of BALB/c mouse, the effects of S₃ on the expression rates of CD3, CD4, CD8, and CD4/CD8 on T cells were determined by flow cytometry following two-colour inmmunofluorescent staining. The expressions of IL-2 mRNA were also detected by RT-PCR. Results S₃ promoted the positive proliferation of CD3, CD4, CD4/CD8 and made CD8 declined among the T cell lines. RT-PCR analyses showed that mRNA expressions of IL-2 in splenocytes could be promoted in both the extremely high dose and the high dose groups (P<0.05, P<0.01, respectively). Conclusion S₃ possesses the effects to promote immune functions in mice.

Objective To construct the recombinant plasmid that highly expressed human zona pellucida 3. Methods The techniques of PCR amplification, T-A vector ligation, and sub-clone were used. Results The pGEM-TZP3 plasmid and pcDNA3.1ZP3dhfr recombinant expression vector were successfully constructed. Conclusion The recombinant expression plasmid constructed by restriction enzyme cleave identification can highly express recombinant human ZP3 protein.

Objective To investigate the expression of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFβ₁) in pericytes of angiogenesis in breast cancer. Methods The expressions of TGFβ₁ in 50 samples with breast cancer were observed by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. Western blotting and semi quantitative RT-PCR were also used to detect protein and mRNA. Results TGFβ₁ protein expressed in cancer cells, endothelium cells and pericytes of blood vessels. TGFβ₁ mRNA mainly distributed in the cytoplasm of pericytes. Western blotting results showed that TGFβ₁ expression enhanced with the increase of MVD (P<0.01). RT-PCR results showed that TGFβ₁mRNA expression enhanced with the increase of MVD (P<0.01). Conclusion TGFβ₁ can regulate the angiogenesis through pericytes.

Objective To study the relationship between intercellular adhesion molecule-1（ICAM-1） expression and invasiveness in laryngeal cancer. Methods Immunohistochemistry technique (LSAB method) was performed to detect the expression of ICAM-1 in laryngeal cancer tissue from 52 patients, the results were statistically analyzed. Results The abnormal expression of ICAM-1 had negative correlation with the clinical stage and pathological grade of laryngeal cancer(P<0.05). Conclusion The deficienty of ICAM-1 can induce invasion and metastasis of laryngeal cancer, it can be an important marker of the pathological diagnosis and prognosis.

Objective To explore the effects of advanced glycosylation end products on the mRNA expression of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) in rat mesangial cells. Methods Rat mesangial cells were cultured in vitro under standard conditions. After stimulated by AGE-BSA and BSA, respectively, RNA was extracted and TGF-β₁ and CTGF mRNA were assessed by RT-PCR. Results TGF-β₁ and CTGF mRNA were significantly upregulated by AGE-BSA in time- and dose-dependent manner compared with control BSA. AGE-BSA induced TGF-β₁ mRNA expression earlier than CTGF mRNA. Conclusion AGEs can significantly induce TGF-β₁ and CTGF mRNA expressions in cultured mesangial cells in time- and dose-dependent manner.

Objective To study the effects of fenugreek seeds on lipid metabolism and kidney antioxidant defense function in diabetic rats. Methods Diabetic rats were treated with fenugreek seeds for 12 weeks,the blood lipid level and kidney antioxidant function were observed. Results The level of blood lipid was reduced, the activities of superoxide dismtase(SOD),glutathion peroxidantion(GSH-Px),and catalase(CAT) were increased in diabetic rats treated with fenugreek seeds.The level of lipid peroxidantion(MDA) in diabetic rats treated with fenugreek seeds was lower than that in untreated group. Conclusion Fenugreek seeds can morderate the lipid metabolism and enhance the kidney antioxidant function in diabetic rats.

Objective To explore the method to construct articular cartilage with chitin-collagen scaffold. Methods Chondrocytes were isolated from articular cartilage of 2-week-old rabbits,digested by collagenase Ⅱ, and subcultured to passage 2 in vitro. After digested, the cells were mixed with bovine I type collagen, human blood freeze-dry fibrinogen, and thrombosin according to a certain proportion and mixed into a kind of net-like carrier that was made of chitin. After cultured one week in vitro, the culture was implanted into subcutaneous tissue in the back of a allogenic adult rabbit for 4 weeks. Results After one week, the cells appeared in triangle or like shuttle, and well distributed in the scaffold. The volume was no change obviously. After cultured in vivo,the chondrocyte secreted collagen Ⅱ and had invaded to the vessels and cells of inflammation. Conclusion Chondrocytes cultured in collagenⅠ,fibrin and chitin mixture may be used as a scaffold that can make tissue engineering cartilage in vitro or in vivo.

Objective To investigate the effects of JieDuTongLuo(JDTL) capsule on connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) expression in myocardial tissue in rats with diabetes mellitus(DM). Methods A total of 36 Wistar rats with DM induced by streptozotocin(STZ) were randomly divided into JDTL capsule-treated group, Benazepril-treated group, and untreated group, 10 normal rats was used as control. The levels of blood sugar, blood lipid and myocardial AngⅡ were measured by immunoradiometry and myocardial CTGF mRNA was detected by RT-PCR after 12 weeks. Results The content of myocardial Ang Ⅱ and the expression of CTGF mRNA were significantly higher in untreated group than those in control and treated groups (P<0.01). Conclusion Long lasted hyperglycemia can lead to the increase of myocardial Ang Ⅱ content and the over-expression of CTGF mRNA in myocardial tissue in diabetic rats. JDTL capsule may partly suppress it and decrease significantly the myocardial injury in diabetic rats.

Objective To observe the effects of oxymatrine on action potential in normal rats and arrhythmic rats induced by aconitine. Methods Action potential of ventricular myocytes of rats were recorded by suspended electrods. Results The oxymatrie at different doses(5,15, and 30 mg•kg^-1) could delay the onset time of the arrhythmia induced by aconitine in dose-dependent manner in rats. After intravenous adminstration of oxymatrine(30 mg•kg^-1) ,the average amplitude of the action potentials was reduced; the action potentials duration, measured at the 50% and 90% repolarization levels, was shortened； and maximum upstroke velocity of action potential was significantly decreased. Conclusion These results suggest that oxymatrine may inhibit cardiac sodium current.

Objective To study the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) in lung carcinoma and its relation with clinical parameters and tumor angiogenesis. Methods The expressions of iNOS mRNA, protein and tumor interstitial MVD were detected in 41 lung carcinoma tissues by the method of in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. Results The expressions of iNOS mRNA and protein in lung carcinoma was significantly higher than that of peri-carcinoma and normal tissues(P<0.005). The positive rates were 60.98% and 58.54%, respectively. The positive staining was mostly localized in cytoplasm of tumor cells and some macrophages and neutrophils. There were positive correlations between iNOS expression and clinical stages and lymph node metastasis, and the MVD of iNOS positive group was obviously higher than that of negative group significantly. Conclusion The iNOS expression in lung carcinoma may be valuable in assessing lymph node metastasis and clinical stages for patients before operation. As the iNOS is able to promote angiogenesis, the inhibition of iNOS may become a new target for anti-angiogenic therapy.

Objective To investigate the effects of sodium butyrate on cell growth inhibition and apoptosis in PC-3M cell lines. Methods Sodium butyrate was added to the culture media of PC-3M cells for different hours and then the cell changes were observed by phase-contrast microscope, the inhibitory rate of cell growth was detected by MTT assay, the apoptosis rate was determined by AO/EB assay, the apoptosis peak and the changes of cell cycle were measured by flow cytometry (FCM). Results Cell growth was significantly inhibited by sodium butyrate and the inhibitory effect was in time- and dose-dependent manner. The morphological changes of apoptosis in PC-3M cells were found. The cell cycle was arrested to G₁/G₀ and G₂/M, the number of cells in S phase reduced, sub-G₁ appeared. Conclusion Sodium butyrate can inhibit the cell growth and induce apoptosis in PC-3M.

Objective To construct a hybrid molecule composed of IFN-β signal sequence and IL-18 mature sequence. Methods Firstly, through routine PCR, IFN-β signal sequence was amplified from BALB/c mouse genome DNA while IL-18 mature sequence from a recombinant plasmid containing mouse Pro-IL-18 sequence. Secondly, the sense strand of IL-18 mature sequence and the anti-sense strand of IFN-β　signal sequence were obtained by asymmetric PCR. Thirdly, a hybrid IL-18 containing IFN-β signal sequence and IL-18 mature sequence was obtained through splicing overlap extension by PCR. At last, the hybrid IL-18 was bonded to pCDNA3 expression vector by the way of orientation linkage and sequenced. Results Continuing PAGE showed the specific single sequence of the two target products could be amplified by asymmetric PCR, and the size was accord with expectation. The best way to obtain hybrid molecule was the mixing of IFN-β signal sequence and IL-18 mature sequence to overlap extention PCR. Squencing proved that expression box of recombinant plasmid was composed of the expected target sequence. And there was no base malposition. Conclusion Splicing overlap extension by PCR is a convenient method to obtain recombinant gene.

Objective To construct the DNA vaccine that would be used to prevent and treat herpes simplex keratitis,and to evaluate the possibility of designing HSV-1 gene vaccine with HSV gpB gene. Methods The part encoding sequence of the glycoprotein B (gpB) was amplified from HSV-1 SM44 DNA genome by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and then was directionally cloned into eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA3, the recombinant vector pcDNA-gpB was confirmed by the restriction endonuclease analysis, PCR and sequence analysis. Results Double-enzyme digestion and analysis of the recombinant vector pcDNA-gpB showed two bands, one was HSV-1gpB gene（2 700 bp）,the other was linear pcDNA3 (5 400 bp);HSV-1gpB gene was cloned by pcDNA-gpB as template; sequence analysis showed orientation was right and the rate of homology was 99.5% compared with GenBank. Conclusion The part encoding sequence of the glycoprotein B is cloned and the recombinant vector pcDNA-gpB is constructed successfully.

Objective To explore the effects of KuDieZi oral liquid(KDZOL) on study and memory functions. Methods By methods of escape response and water labyrinth, with YiZiJanNao oral liquids(YZJNOL) as positive drug, the effects of KDZOL on study and memory functions in normal mice and rats,and injured mice and rats by scopolamine. Results Compared with normal mice, KDZOL(10 and 20 g•kg^-1) reduced wrong time of mice escape response on the 1st day and had no effects on wrong time and wrong incubation of mice on the 2nd day;compared with mice injured by scopolamine, KDZOL(20 g•kg^-1) reduced mice wrong time on the 1st day and wrong time on the 2nd day, and prolonged wrong incubation period on the 2nd day，KDZOL(10 g•kg^-1) reduced mice wrong time on the 1st day; KDZOL did not influence the knowing swimming time of normal rats and injured rats by scopolamine in the labyrinth. Conclusion KDZOL can improve study and memory functions in normal mice and injured mice by scopolamine, and KDZOl can not improve space distinguishing ability in normal rats and injured rats by scopolamine.

Objective To study the effects of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor（captopril） and angiotensin Ⅱ antagonist receptor (valsartan) on neointima hyperplasia after vascular balloon injury. Methods Thirty-six rabbit models were randomly divided into three groups:injuried group，captopril group and valsartan group. Captopril (2 mg•kg^-1•d^-1 po) and valsartan (10 mg•kg^-1•d^-1 po) were given to twelve rabbits respectively from 1 day before the right carotid arteries were injuried by 2.0 mm ballon cathether to 14 days after injury in captopil group and valsartan group. The medicine was not administered in the injuried group. The tissue plasminogen activator (tPA),plaminogen activor inhibitor-1(PAI-1) antigen level and plasma endothelin (ET) levels were measured before injury, and 7,14 days after vascular injury. The pathomorphoiogical examination were carried out 14 days after angioplasty. Results The levels of plasma PAI-1 and ET in captopril group and valsartan group were significantly lower than those in the injuried group(P<0.05).The intimal thickness and extent of lumen stenosis in captopril and valsartan groups were significantly lower than those in the injuried group (P<0.05). Conclusion Captopril and valsartan can inhibit neointima hyperplasia after vascular ballon injury.

Objective To establish the culture system of conditionalization for the astrocytes of cerebral cortex in vitro. Methods The cell activity was determined by means of quick and sensitive MTT colorimetry. The purified cells were observed in morphology and identified in immunohistochemistry. Results The pure and single cell groups passing through separation and purify were obtained. The A value of astrocytes detected with MTT was 0.255±0.012.Conclusion The establishment of culture system of conditionalization for the astrocytes of cerebral cortex in vitro can quickly and effectively obtain the high purity astrocytes.

Objective To observe the effects of Cordyceps militaris(L) Linr (CML) on monoamine oxidase (MAO-B) activity, and contents of lipofuscin and hydroxyoroline in senile Wistar rats. Methods The activity of MAO-B was detected by ultraviolet-spectrophotometry, the content of lipofuscin was measured by spectrofluorimetry, and the content of hydroxyproline was tested by spectrophotometry 14 days after administration of CML. Results The MAO-B activity, the contents of lipofuscin and hudroxyproline in tissues were significantly different in experimental groups compared with control (P<0.05). Conclusion CML can reduce the MAO-B activity in brain and liver, and decrease the lipofuscin content in heart, liver, and brain. It also can increase hydroxyproline content in skin.

Objective To explore the effects of inhalant formaldehyde on lipid peroxidation in mice. Methods Fifty male mice were randomly divided into 5 groups: one control group and four experimental groups. The mice were poisoned 2 hours one day for 7 weeks continuously,then were killed. The contents of MDA and the activeties of SOD in serum and liver were measured. Results The contents of MDA in different experimental groups were significantly higher than that in control group, and the activities of SOD were remarkably lower than that in control group (P<0.01).The contents of MDA in different experimental groups showed an increasing tendency,and the activities of SOD showed a reducing tendency with the increase of the formaldehyde doses. Conclusion A certain dose of formaldehyde can destroy the balance of lipid peroxidation in mice,the ability of antioxidation is reduced obviously.

Objective To observe the effects of Rhodiola extracts on hepatocytes apoptosis. Methods The levels of lipideperoxygen (LPO) in liver and serum were measured by thiobabituric acid (TBA) and phosphotungstic acid,respectively. The cell cycle and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). Results Rhodiola extracts significantly decreased the levels of LPO in liver and serum and the higher apopototic rate of hepatocytes.Conclusion Rhodiola extracts posses the effects of against lipid peroxidation and apoptosis.

Objective To observe the influences of QiDong YiXin(QDYX) on hemodynamics and myocardial oxygen consumption, and its protective effects on acute myocardial infarction in anesthetic dogs. Methods The parameters of hemodynamics and myocardial oxygen metabolism were measured in the anaesthetic dogs with thoracotomy. The myocardial infarction size and the changes of the enzymes in serum were determined by using the acute myocardial infarction models with ligation of LAD in the anaesthetic dogs with thoracotomy. Results The coronary resistance and myocardial oxygen consumption were decreased, the myocardial blood flow was increased in dogs treated with QDYX of 1.0 and 2.0 mg•kg^-1. The myocardial infarction size and the activities of serum creatine kinase (CK) and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) were decreased in acute myocardial infarction dogs treated with QDYX of 1.0 and 2.0 mg•kg^-1. Conclusion QDYX has protective effect on myocardial ischemia through decreasing myocardial oxygen consumption in dogs.

Objective To study the protection of Asclepiadaceae (Asc) against the brain injury induced by ischemia and hypoxia and its mechanism. Methods The rat model of cerebral ischemia was established. The concentrations of ATP, lactic acid, CPK, and MDA in the brain tissue of rats and the clearance rate of hydroxyl radical (•OH) were measured. Results Asclepiadaceae obviously increased the concentration of ATP, and decreased the concentrations of lactic acid, CPK and MDA in the brain tissue. The clearance rate of •OH obviously rose with the increasing of Asclepiadaceae concentration. Conclusion Asclepiadaceae has the protective effects on the brain injury induced by ischemia. Its mechanism is correlated with the anti-radical effects.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor flt-1 in renal cell carcinoma tissues and pathological clinic parameters. Methods The expressions of flt-1 in 34 cases of renal cell carcinoma were detected with immunohistochemistry and semi-quantitative analysis.Results The positive expressions of flt-1 were found in 19 specimans of renal cell carcinoma of all 34 cases. The expression of flt-1 was related with renal venous invasion in patients with cell carcinoma. Conclusion Flt-1 is related with the biological behavior of tumor in patients with renal cell carcinoma.

Objective To study the effects of the combination of angiogenesis inhibitor TNP-470 and MMC on the growth and liver metastasis of colon carcinoma. Methods Metastatic model simulating human colon cancer M116 was established and the thirty-two nude mice were randomly divided into 4 groups: control group,TNP-470 group,MMC group,and TNP-470+MMC group. Results The average tumor weights in four groups were (499±247),(478±180), (275±80),and (255±65) mg, respectively. The liver metastasis rates in four groups were 87.5%, 25.0%, 75.0%, and 12.5%, respectively. Compared with control group, tumor growth was significantly inhibited by TNP-470+MMC, and the mice in each group showed no evident weight loss and no abnormal activities. Conclusion The combination of TNP-470 and MMC can produce additive effects on the growth and liver metastasis of colon cancer. The toxic action of TNP-470 is not affected by MMC.

Objective To increase the sensitivity of residual leukemic cells detection in chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) patients with RT-PCR, the optimal dose of reverse transcriptase，optimal annealing，extension temperature，and PCR cycles were studied to confirm bcr/abl fused gene types. Methods Through changing the PCR conditions, the dose of reverse transcriptase was decreased to one-quarter of routine doses (5 U),the annealing temperature was increased from 50℃ to 60℃, and the number of reaction cycles was increased from 30 to 45. All 164 CML patients were examined. Results bcr/abl fused gene types were found in 155 patients with positive Ph chromosome,of all 78 cases were b₃/a₂ type, 54 cases were b₂/a₂ type, and 23 cases were both b₃/a₂ and b₂/a₂ types. Of 9 negative Ph chromosome, 1 case was b₃/a₂ type, 3 cases was b₂/a₂ type, 1 case was both b₃/a₂ and b₂/a₂ types,and 4 cases were negative (Ph^-bcr^-CML). Conclusion Almost all the CML patients can be found that they have bcr/abl fused gene, few have two kinds of chimera leukemic cells (two kinds of mutational cell lines).

Objective To obtain the completely humanized single-chain antibody(scFv) against PreS1 of hepatitis B virus(HBV). Methods A 10¹⁰ cfu naive combinatorial library of phage-display human scFv, genes of which were derived from peripheral blood lymphocytes(PBLs) of 60 healthy donors, was constructed and panned by PreS1 of HBV. After 3 rounds of panning, the activity of individual clone was examined by ELISA. The clone with the highest A₄₁₀ value was expressed in E. coli HB2151 then identified by Western blotting. Sequencing was also carried out. Results After 3 rounds of panning, a 100 folds increase in the phage yielding relative to the first panning was noted. Measurement of antibody-antigen reaction revealed that scFv mono-clone specific to PreS1 with A₄₁₀=1.0 was enriched, which proportion of insert was verified by Western after being expressed. The sequencing result demonstrated further that it was a human scFv gene with which V_H belonged to human V_H1 family, and V_λ belonged to V_λ1. Conclusion The technique described in this paper is a powerful way to obtain humanized scFv gene against PreS1 of HBV, which may provide a more satisfactory therapy for hepatitis B.

Objective To study the frequency distribution of vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms in pre-menopausal women lived in Changchun for 10 years in China. Methods VDR( Bsm I)gene polymorphisms of 186 healthy pre-menopausal women were detected with polymerase chain reation-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). Results The frequtncy distribution of VDR genetype were BB 0%, Bb 12.4%,and bb 87.6%. There were significant differences compared with the Han nationality in Geuangzhou and the Hasake nationality in Xinjiang (P<0.05), there was no significant difference compared with the Han nationality in Xinjiang (P>0.05).Conclusion The frequency distribution of VDR genotype in pre-memopausal women in Changchun appeared in polymorphisms,the bb type is the most,which is sharply different from the results reported in other cities in China.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between serum IL-10 and c-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) and the severity of AP and its clinical significance. Methods The levels of serum IL-10 and CRP were determined by ELISA in 12 healthy subjects and 45 patients with AP on the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th and 5th days after onset. Results The serum IL-10 was not found in control group. The levels of serum IL-10 was increased on the 1st day of onset, then was decreased. The level of IL-10 in patients with mild acute pancreatitis (MAP) was significantly higher than that in patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) on the 1st day of onset; the levels of serum IL-10 was hgihest in patients with MAP on the 1st day of onset;it was higher in patients with SAP on the 1st,2nd and 3rd days than that on the 4th and 5th days (P<0.05).Conclusion The change of serum IL-10 in patients with AP may be used as early accessory diagnosis of AP. The level of serum IL-10 on the 1st day of onset may be used to identify MAP and SAP. The combinated determine of IL-10 and CRP may be used as one index to judge the prognosis.

Objective To explore the morphologic characteristics of V1 segment of vertebral artery in order to provide anatomic fundamental data for surgery in lower neck and endovascular treatment for vertebral artery. Methods Forty-two adult aseptic cadavers (84 sides) whose arteries affused with red latex were used for observing and measuring the origin, course, length, outerdiameter of V1 segment of vertebral artery and the place through which it entered transversal foramen. Results Two left vertebral arteries origined from aortic arch(2.4%), 17 sides origined from anterosuperior quadrant(20.7%), 65 sides origined from posterosuperior(79.3%), 30 sides showed tortuosities(35.7%) in their courses. Average lengthes of V1 segment of vertebral artery were (37.8±4.9)mm on left and (36.4±5.7)mm on right. The outerdiameters in left contorted course group, left straight course group, right contorted course group and right straight course group were (4.72±0.37), (4.25±0.35), (4.35±0.41), and (3.95±0.38)mm, respectively. Conclusion V1 segments of vertebral artery show many morphologic variations,but the locations of its origin and end are more steady.

Objective To study stress distribution and displacement of abutment of middle implant-natural teeth fixed bridge under different loading. Methods The stress distribution and displacement of abutment were studied and analyzed by means of three-dimensional finite element when different loading was applied. Results The biggest stress of middle implant was 4-5 times as big as that of natural teeth. Under concentrated vertical loading, the biggest stress of implant was about 2 times higher than that under dispersed vertical loading. There was no significant difference of biggest stress on the implant between concentrated oblique loading and dispersed oblique loading. The biggest stress of implant under oblique loading was 3 times as big as that under dispersed vertical loading. The biggest stress of natural teeth under dispersed loading was lower than that under concentrated loading. The maximum displacement of implant in occlusal-gum direction was great lower than that of natural teeth. Both in buccal-lingual direction and medial-distal direction, the displacement of implant were about equal to that of natural teeth. Conclusion The oblique loading is the main force to destroy the middle implant-natural teeth fixed bridge. The lean of cusp should be reduced .The abnormally high occlusal points should be deleted. The bite points should be well distributed. The fixed bridge is feasible.

Objective To explore the spectro-mode features of unaspirated consonants of Chinese Putonghua produced by healthy, normal children and children with cleft palate. Methods The voices of 22 healthy, normal children and that of 19 cleft palate children before operation were compared by VS-9700 spectrography; the features in unaspirated affricative （［ts］,［ts］,［tc］）and fricative (［f］, ［s］, ［s］, ［c］, ［x］) of Chinese Putonghua were observed, respectively. The values of the frequency of the normal children and the children with cleft palate were analyzed. Results No obvious plosive features were observed in patients with cleft palate in speaking but only fricative feature was found. The differences reflected in the fricative (［f］, ［s］, ［s］, ［c］, ［x］) spectrum of the normal and preoperation cleft palate children were not distinctive , and showed that position of the heavy frequency was lowered. Conclusion The spectro-mode features in affricative of speech disorders associated with clefting have no obvious plosive features in speaking and only fricative features. The spectro-mode features in fricative between the normal children and the children with cleft palate are not distinctive.

Objective To compare the interleukin-6(IL-6) levels in patients with variety of arthritides and to evaluate the significance of IL-6 in the onset of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) and the correlation between IL-6 and RA disease activity. Methods The IL-6 levels in serum and synovial fluid in patients with RA, ankylosing spondylitis(AS), osteoarthritis(OA), and gouty arthritis were measured by radioimmunoassay, and the correlation between IL-6 and RA disease activity indicators was analyzed. Results The IL-6 levels both in serum and synovial fluid in RA patients was significantly higher than that in other kinds of arthritic patients, and the level of IL-6 in synovial fluid was significantly higher than that in serum in patients with RA. There were significant positive correlations between IL-6 level in serum and tender joint count, swollen joint count, and CRP as well as between IL-6 level in synovial fluid and pain joint count, tender joint count, swollen joint count, ESR, and CRP in patients with RA. Conclusion IL-6 is involved in the onset of RA and the determination of its level both in synovial fluid and serum in patients with RA is helpful for diagnosis of RA and estimating its disease activity.
