Investigation on Combustion Processes of Automotive Diesel Engine with Different Charging Systems

Abstract: Cylinder pressure diagrams,fuel injection pressure histories both on pump side and injector side,injector needle valve lift are measured in practical total speed range for a turbocharging diesel engine.Fuel injection rate profiles and heat release rate profiles are calculated according by software pack for diesel engine fuel injection & combustion analysis and diagnosis.Analysis method of fuel injection and combustion process by means of characteristic parameters is proposed and applied to an automotive direct injection diesel engine with 3 kinds of different charging systems and useful results are obtained.
