Experiments and analysis of the dual-overrunning clutches electro-mechanical regenerative damper prototype

Abstract: Based on previous analysis of the dual-overrunning clutches electro-mechanical regenerative damper concept, a prototype damper is designed and built for laboratory experiments. The frequency and damping response features are tested under harmonic excitation. Prototype experiment results verify the feasibility of the damper design; meanwhile, the method to achieve high-low semi-active damping in a passive manner is testified. This study may provide the guidance for further investigating the structure of dual-overrunning clutches.
