Characteristic of snowy pavement and evaluation on driving tenseness of driver

Abstract:

In order to study quantitatively the friction factor characteristic of the snowy road pavement and the driving tenseness of driver under the condition of this kind of pavement, the regression analysis method was adopted to analyze the field observation data to investigate the relations between the friction factor of the snowy pavement and temperature, moisture, thickness, and compaction degree of snow layer. It was found that there are weak relations between the snowy pavement friction factor and the temperature and the thickness of snow while strong relations for the moisture and the compaction degree. A multivariable linear regression model was built. The blood flow, the skin temperature, and the respiration volume of the experienced driver and the inexperienced driver under the immobile condition and under driving on the nonsnow pavement and on the snowy pavement were measured on real vehicle tests. The variations of the performance of the blood circulation system, nervous system and respiratory system were analyzed contrastively, and an evaluation model was established for the driver tenseness.
