Distribution of volumetric parameters in asphalt mixture

Abstract:

The distributions of the volumetric parameters in the asphalt mixture were analyzed systematically based on the Marshall test data after their random errors and systematic errors were removed according to the statistical principle. Based on this the evaluation method of the volumetric parameter in the asphalt mixture was explored. The test data illustrated that the 2parameter Weibull distribution can reflect well the distribution of asphalt saturation degree, and the 3parameter Weibull distribution reflects better the distributions of the air void ratio and the void ratio in the mineral aggregate. The study of the evaluation method of the asphalt mixture volumetic parameters based on the Weibull distribution showed that the volumetric parameter at the probality peak of Weibull distribution can more accurately reflect than the average value the distribution feature of volumetric parameters in the asphalt mixture.
