Elasto-visco-plastic FEM Simulation of Stamping Process

Abstract: A general elasto visco plastic(EVP) constitutive equation for multi axial stress state is established from uniaxial EVP equation,J2 flow theory and isotropic hardening criterion,and an EVP FEM is formulated by derived equation in connection with incremental virtual work principle.Large formation FEM code on the basis of formulation is used to simulate uniaxial drawing of a sheet metal specimen.Simulated processes are in good agreement with experiment.More complicated stamping of square box is also simulated with good results to confirm proposed formulation.
