Approach to evaluate machinery-design concept alternatives(MDCA) based on DEA and fuzzy measures for performance of MDCA

Abstract: A fuzzy approach to measure for performance of a machinery design concept alternative (MDCA) is firstly presented.Then,according to the principle of value engineering,a new approach to evaluate MDCAs is given by generalizing the model of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to the fuzzy environment.Finally,a case study is presented to verify the given approach is applicable for real world evaluation problems of MDCA.
