New timing scheme for increasing TCP throughput in ad hoc network

Abstract: Since traditional TCP timer is fundamentally inappropriate for ad hoc network with random abrupt round-trip time (RTT), a new TCP timing scheme based on rtt_active timer was proposed. Theoretical analysis and NS2 based simulation show that this scheme compared with rtt_active timer can much more quickly respond to network changing, reasonably set retransmission timeout value for TCP segment and increase TCP throughput.
