Stochastic Comparisons of Random Variables
ZHANG Xiao-ran, WANG De-hui, SONG Li-xin
J4. 2002, 40 (01):  1-9.
Abstract ( 262 )
In the present paper the authors first make a generliza tion of Lehmann and Rojo's theorem on the kinds of ordering relationships, then show that the i-th order statistic of (X1,...,Xn) and the i-th order statistic of (Y1,...,Yn) keep the ordering relation ships between X and Y for i=1,...,n. At last the authors investigate the invariance of the kinds of ordering relationships under monotone transformations and the i nvariance of dispersive ordering under convex(concave) functions.

Abstract ( 157 )
In this paper, we discuss GCk blending problem of two algebraic surfaces of any degree by using the tools of algebraic geometry, obtain some conditions for the existense of blending surfaces of degree p with GCk continuity. We also deal with some special problems by using the conditions obtained in the paper and derive the corresponding condition and the constructive formulae of blending surfaces. The conditions obtained in this paper are of simple form, easy to be decided and constructive in some interest cases.

Solving Constraint Satisfaction Problem and Brief Introduction to ILOG SOLVER System
JIANG Ying-xin, SUN Ji-gui
J4. 2002, 40 (01):  53-60.
Abstract ( 272 )
Constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) is a problem composed of a finite set of variables, each of which is associated with a finite domain, and a set of constraints can be used to restrict the values of the variables to be simultaneously taken. The task for solving the problem is to assign a value to each variable satisfying all the constraints. In this article, the basic algorithm and search strategies for solving CSP are summarized for the first time. Then a CSP solving system ILOG SOLVER is introduced, which was developed by France ILOG company. Finally, two map-coloring problem solutions are given by using this system.

RONG Chui-qing, DU Xiu-guo, PAN Shou-fu, YU Jun-hua
J4. 2002, 40 (01):  71-74.
Abstract ( 172 )
The geometric structures of the eight kinds of configurations of S4 have been optimized by using SCF-HF ab initio, MP2 and two density functional methods (BLYP, B3LYP) with 6-311+G** basis set. Vibrational spectra have been computed for each configuration respectively by HF and B3LYP methods. Total energies have been calculated with the MP4/6-311+G** and the QCISD(T)/6-311+G** levels for electron correlation effects us ing HF/6-311+G** geometries. The relative stabilities of the different co nfigurations are compared to each other. It is concluded that S4 has a cis-planar C2v ground state strcture.

The Effect of 1H RF Irradiation on 13C Spin-lattice Relaxa tion
XU Feng, LIU Yu-lin, HUANG Yong-ren
J4. 2002, 40 (01):  75-79.
Abstract ( 246 )
The extended Solomon equations are used to describe the 13C spin-lattice relaxation with the 1H RF field irradia tion. It is shown that the 13C spin-lattice relaxation with the 1H RF field irradiation is generally a triple-exponential course, which can be reduced to a single-exponential course in the absence of the 1H initial magne tization and with strong enough RF field irradiation. Based on the numerical cal culation, the large difference between the spin-lattice relaxation curves obeyi ngTC1H1 and those obeying TC 1>TH1 is indicated. The methyl 13C resonance in L-valine in the solid state is examined, whose experimental results agree well with the theoretical ones.

Studies on the Fe-Bacteria from Natural Waterin the West District of Jilin Province
MEI Zi-qing, WANG Hai-jing, WANG Feng,PIAO Zhen-san,LI Chun-yu, LI Yu-shan, WEN Liang
J4. 2002, 40 (01):  91-94.
Abstract ( 525 )
Two kinds of Fe-bacteria(named Fb1 and Fb2) were s eparated from the natural water samples collected from the west district of Jilin province. Fb1 is ellipse and its cells array in pairs and the size is 0.7~1 μm. Fb2 is bacilliform and its cell is single or connected eac h other and the size is (0.4~0.7) μm×(1.5~2.1) μm. They are both Gram-negative bacteria. Fb1 has spore, while Fb2 has not any. Fb1 can be mobile through their flagellum, but Fb2 can not be because they have not flagellum. These two kinds of Fe-bacteria live in the water samples with a large quantities. They entered the stationary phase when they were developed in the culture medium of beef extract and peptone for 20 h, and they entered the decline phase after 24 h. The results indicate that their physiological and biochemical properties are similar.

Reactiongenicity and Antigenic Specificity of HumanImmunodeficiency Virus Type 2 External Glycoproteingp105 and Transmembrane Glycoprotein gp36 Expressedin Baculovirus Expression System
ZHANG Ying-Jiu, JIN Ning-Yi, WANG Hong-wei , HUANG Wei,ZHANG Dong-wei,SHEN Jia-Cong
J4. 2002, 40 (01):  105-107.
Abstract ( 174 )
To develop effective vaccines and diagnostic agents of AIDS, reactiongenicity and antigenic specificity of the external glycoprotein gp105 and transmembrane glycoprotein gp36 of human immunodeficiency virus type 2, expressed in insect cells spodoptera frugiperda (SF9) using baculovirus expression system were determined by ELISA. The results showed that as an antigen, the expressed gp105 and gp36 showed the ability to react with HIV-2 antisera, and their reactive capacity was similar to that of the positive control (standard HIV-2 external glycoprotein or transmembrane glycoprotein), which demonstrated that the expressed gp105 and gp36 might be used as a diagnostic agent or their components and the material for immunological studies. Furthermore, the results showed that the expressed gp105 and gp36 exhibited a stronger reactiongenicity with HIV-2 antisera than with HIV-1 antisera, i.e., they exhibited a high specificity. The HIV-2 gp105 or gp36 shares approximately 40% amino acid sequence homology with that of HIV-1, and the weaker cross-reactivity is often observed. Because HIV external glycoprotein and transmembrane glycoprotein mediate the attachment and fusion of the virion to the host cell, many vaccine strategies have focused on them. Similar to native gp105 and gp36, the expressed gp105 and gp36 in this study exhibitied a good reactiongenicity and antigenic specificity, thus they can be used for the studies on its ability to induce immune responses in primate models.
