Abstract:

Objective
To detect the levels of glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbAlc),3-nitrotyrosine(3-NT)and other biochemical indexes in the patients with diabetes mellitus (DM)and its complications, and to discuss the relationship between these indexes and DM and its complications, and to provide  basis for diagnosis and therapy of  DM patients.
Methods 64 DM patients were selected, including 18 DM patients (simple DM group) and 46 DM complication patients (DM complication group),which included 16 DM peripheral neuropathy patients (DM peripheral neuropathy group) and 30 DM other complication patients(DM other complication group);20 non-diabetic subjects (normal control group) were selected. The levels of HbA1c,3-NT,fasting blood glucose (FBG),total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),and serum creatinine (Cre) of the objects in various groups were detected. Results The levels of HbA1c,3-NT,FBG,TG,and Cre of the patients in simple DM group and DM complication group were higher than those  in normal control group(P<0.05);the 3-NT levels of the  patients in DM  ther complication group and DM peripheral neuropathy group were  higher  than those in   simple DM group(P<0.05);the levels of 3-NT and TG had an increasing trend with the development of DM complications and the patients in DM peripheral neuropathy group had the highest levels of 3-NT and TG.The results of regression analysis showed that there were linear regression relationship between BMI, TC and  3-NT (r=0.272,r=0.216,P<0.05).Conclusion HbA1c and 3-NT play an important role in early diagnosis and treatment monitoring of DM and its complications.3-NT testing has great significance for the further  diagnosis of DM complications.
