Evaluation on curative effect of minimal-single-operating-port thoracoscopy in  treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax

Abstract: Abstract:Objective To explore the method of  minimal-single-operating-port video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) in treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax and to clarify  its clinical advantages. Methods Retrospective analysis of 96 patients with spontaneous pneumothorax  underwent VATS was performed.The patients were divided into two groups according to different  medical treatment groups and the different surgical method:minimal-single-operating-port VATS(MVATS) group  including 23 cases treated by minimal-single-operating-port VATS approach and conventional VATS group including 73 cases treated by two-operating-port VATS or conventional single-operating-port VATS. The mean operation time,mean intraoperative blood loss and average postoperative hospital stay,average postoperative chest tube duration and postoperative pain grades of the patients in two groups were analyzed and compared. Results The mean intraoperative blood loss,average postoperative hospital stay,and average postoperative chest tube duration had no significant difference between MVATS group and VATS group(P>0.05);however,the incidence of  postoperative pain in MVTS group was significantly lower than that in VATS group (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with two-operating-port VATS and conventional single-operating-port VATS,minimal-single-operating-port VATS has the similar clinical efficacy and better cosmetic result,and reduces the postoperative pain effectively in treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax.
