Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To explore the association between polymorphism of ACE gene and primary hypertension in Korean and Han nationalities. Methods The ACE gene polymorphism in 106 patients with hypertension(case group) and 105 healthy controls(control group) were examined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction frag
ment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium for genotypic distribution was tested using Chi-square test of goodness of fit.SPSS13.0 was applied to analyze the association between allelic gene and genotypic distribution and primary hypertension. Results The genotypic frequency distribution of ACE gene was not deviated from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in both case group and control group(P>0.05).The genotypic(I,DD and ID)and allelic frequencies(I,D) of ACE gene had no significant difference between case and control groups(P>0.05).There were no remarkable differences of genotypic frequency and allelic frequency of ACE gene between case and control groups of Korean nationalities (P>0.05).There were  no remarkable differences of genotypic frequency and allelic frequency of ACE gene between case and control groups of Han nationalities(P>0.05).And the genotypic frequency and allelic frequency of ACE gene had no statistically significant difference  among Korean and Han nationalities in healthy samples (P>0.05),the genotypic frequency and allelic frequency of ACE gene  had no statistically significant difference among Korean and Han nationalities in healthy controls(P>0.05).Conclusion The polymorphism of ACE gene may not be associated with primary hypertension in Korean and Han nationalities.
