Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the value in judgement of malignancy and invasion of glioma with hydrogen-1 magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H1-MRS) in combination with  diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and provide useful image information for evaluating biologic classification of glioma and regulating reasonable treatment principles. Methods 13 patients with low grade glioma and 12 patients with high grade glioma underwent conventional MR imaging,H1-MRS and DTI. the parameters of MRS and DTI were measured,The values of patients in high grade and low grade glioma groups were compared and the changes of the white fiber tracts were observed.Results Compared with low grade glioma group, the NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr,NAA/Cho,rFA values in high grade glioma group had statistic differences(P<0.05). In high grade glioma group, the NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr,NAA/Cho and rFA of edema area (0.98±0.19,2.80±1.20,0.58±0.19,0.56±0.11)and edge of edema (1.46±0.25,1.29±0.28,1.12±0.18,0.78±0.06) were different statistically (P<0.05). White matter fiber was illustrated by  DTT as deviation and rarefaction in low grade glioma;destruction and discontinuation in high grade glioma. Conclusion H1-MRS combined with DTI contributes to study malignancy and invasion of glioma and provide more useful information for establishing operating program of glioma.
