Abstract: Objective To evaluate the inhibitory effect of the polyI: C on subcutaneous prostate carcinoma of mice. Methods The mouse prostate carcinoma models were established by inoculating RM-1 cells to subcutaneous tissue of mice. Then the mice were randomly divided into two groups: control group and polyI:C group according to tumor weight(n=8) .After seven times′ treatment, the prostate carcinoma was separated from mice and the tumor and mouse weight were measured and the inhibitory rates of polyI:C was calculated. The tumor growth curves and mice survival curves were drew. HE staining was used to evaluate the morphological changes of prostate carcinoma tissue. Results The tumor weights in control and polyI:C group were (4.14±1.56) and (1.58±0.67)g ,respectively, and there was significant difference between two groups(P<0.05). The tumor inhibitory rate of polyI:C was 67.85%. The tumor growth curves showed that the growth of polyI:C group was slower than that in control and the mouse survival curves showed that there was significant difference of mouse survival time between two groups (P<0.05).HE staining showed that the cell proliferation in control group was more active than that in polyI:C group. Conclusion PolyI:C can strongly inhibit not only the growth but the migration rate and death rate of prostate carcinoma.
