Abstract:

Objective To investigate the feature and difference of protein expression in neoplastic cells and non-neoplastic background lymphoid cells of classical Hodgkin lymphoma. Methods The clinical data, histological features and immunohis
tochemical findings of sixty-eight cases of classical Hodgkin lymphoma were collected. The additional immunostaining was performed if conformed by Envision method, the CD30,CD15 and T/B phenotype and so forth were mainly observed. Results The expression  rates of CD30 in neoplastic cells and background lymphoid cells were 86.76%(59/68)and 20.59%(14/68). The expression rates of CD15 in neoplastic cells and background lymphoid cells were 51.47%(35/68)and 63.24%(43/68). The positive rates of T-cell and B-cell phenotypes in neoplastic cells were 45.59%(31/68) and 42.65%(29/68). The expressions of B-cell and T-cell phenotype in neoplastic cells were 21 cases and 28 cases while mature lymphoid cells mainly expressed T-cell phenotype. The expressions of B-cell and T-cell phenotypes in neoplastic cells were 8 cases and 3 cases while mature lymphoid cells  mainly expressed non  T-cell phenotype. Conclusion Both CD30 and CD15 are not specific markers, they could express both in neoplastic cells and reactive lymphocytes. The  T-cell phenotype expressed in neoplastic cells  is higher than  B-cell phenotype. There is no difference of positive rate between    T-cell or B-cell phenotype in neoplastic cells while background cells mainly express T-cell phenotype.
