Influence of budesonide and formoterol inhaling in improvement of |pulmonary function and serum cytokines |in patients with bronchial asthma

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the realationship between IFN- γ,IL-17,IL-33 and bronchial asthma,and observe the influence of budesonide and formoterol treatment in the cytokines mentioned above and pulmonary function in the patients with bronchial asthma.Methods  40 patients who were diagnosed as moderate asthma with acute onset were divided into two groups:general treatment group and budesonide and formoterol inhaling treatment group,with 20 patients in each group.20 healthy adults were selected  as control group.The patients in general treatment group were treated with antibiotics and aminofilina for 2 weeks,while the patients in inhaling treatm
ent group were given general treatment and budesonide and formoterol inhaling.The levels of IFN-γ,IL-17,IL-33 and pulomanry function were detected,and then the indexes were compared among three groups including before and after  treatment.Results The levels of IFN-γ,IL-17 and IL-33 in general treatment group and inhaling treatment group before treatment were higher than those  in control group(P<0.05),but the PEF and FEV1/FVC were lower(P<0.05).After treatment the levels of IL-33 and IL-17 in inhaling treatment groups were decreased than before treatment(P<0.05),but the PEF and FEV1/FVC were increased(P<0.05); the levels of IL-33 and IL-17 in treatment group  were lower after treatment than those in general treatment group,but the PEF and FEV1/FVC were igher.No statistical significance in the level of  IFN-γ was found  between before and after treatment in general treatment g
roup and inhaling treatment   group.Conclusion The levels of  IFN- γ,IL-17 and IL-33 are significantly  increased in patients with bronchial asthma; budesonide and formoterol inhaling can decrease the levels of IL-17 and IL-3,and improve the pulmonary function.
