Effects of Triton X-100 on ginsenoside secretion and biosynthesis in Panax ginseng hairy roots

Abstract: The effects of the penetrant Triton X-100 on the secretion of ginsenosides in Panax ginseng hairy roots were studied. Results show that Triton X-100 can effectively promote the secretion of ginsenosides and enhance the biosynthesis of ginsenosides in the hairy root. Moreover, under the presence of Triton X-100, the expression of dammarenediol synthase gene, the key gene in ginsenoside biosynthesis, is also elevated.
